Scorpion Solitaire: rules and examples

Keep the active rule in mind. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. Before making a move, check the cards in view. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a more deliberate round

Use the rule sheet as a reference. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. Use another round to revisit a decision.

The objective of a round

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Use the rule sheet as a reference.

How to proceed

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Complete same-suit king-to-ace runs to clear them from the tableau.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

How to use the controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Begin with the objective.

One way to understand the rules

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Watch out for this

For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Use another round to revisit a decision.
